UMC404HD : Excellent product with only a few flaws

I've been using this audio interface for a couple of months everyday.

It works perfectly. The preamps are nice and silent. It works smoothly with Ableton Live in my Macbook.

The only flaws to be said are: the routing of the interface doesn't allow to have direct monitoring for each single track (4) but only in a 2 channel mixdown. This mixdown can be 1&3 on L and 2&4 on R (stereo) or all the tracks mixed into both output channels (mono). It seems a bit silly to me since there are 4 outputs. Those, instead, are only used as an output from the USB.

I have a 4 tracks tape recorder and I wanted to take advantage of these nice preamps with phantom power, but that isn't possible. Not with 4 separate tracks.

Another little flaw is that the (main out) output is very very soft.

Still, for the price is an excellent device!
