SE215-CL : Very good entry level inears

I am using these inears for keyboard monitoring. Originally I planned to invest way more money for custom inears, but then I decided to try out the SE215 first. I figured if I don't like them, I will not loose too much money. But if I like them, I will save a lot.

So the bottom line: I like them very much.

The build quality is very good. They have a nice size that fits my ears quite well. The thick cable can be formed to fit around your ear. I am using the medium foam ear pieces and at first I thought that they felt a bit uncomfortable, but I adjusted to this and after about 2 hours and now I like the fit of the foam. Even after 2 to 3 hours of wearing them, my ears don't hurt.

The noise isolation is excellent. You don't need to turn up the volume on a loud stage.

I do also like the sound of these earphones. The bass is very strong but has a lot of definition. Midrange is good, I can hear voices clearly. Highs could be a little stronger in my opinion, but maybe they would then be too aggressive. The sound of the earphones can be shaped with an eq very well.

All in all, buying these phones has saved me a great deal of money. I definitely don't need to upgrade to custom inears in the near or medium future.
