U-Phoria UMC202HD : Good budget interface for the People
I use this in my writing studio (I'm a media composer) to drive some Fostex monitors and everything sounds fine.
I have been running my business on a shoestring budget (up until recently) and had to buy budget equipment. This little workhorse fulfills its function without complaint or malfunction.
I rarely record but occasionally use a dynamic mic connected to the interface to record vocals and small percussion with good results.
It is ideal for someone who needs an inexpensive interface.
