Rhythm KR Mini : boom tishhh boom boom tish

I love this little box of fun. It's not pro-quality and isn't advertised as such. It's meant to be fun and it is.

the sounds are decent and for a small band or individual wanting cheap basic live backing or backing for rehearsal it will do just fine.

I use it for personal jamming and a little recording. (great result with eq / reverb / compression.)

The rhythms are basic and don't vary wildly from preset to preset... the fills are as fun and kitsch as the main rhythms and kick in every 2 bars.

programming your own beats and making chains is easy enough (though it did take me a few reads of the manual to figure it out at first)

there is a small degree of velocity sensitivity which is useful.

My only bug bear is I would have liked to have seen a WALTZ selection like on old analogue machines... but never mind.

like those analogue machines, there are some jazz presets which you will never use.

I have read elsewhere that there is no tap / beat sync feature and no BPM setting.. which is true... would have been nice but as mentioned, it's not a pro machine... so not really an issue....what it is... is bloody good lo-fi fun. I love it.

oh, only slight grouch.(apart from no waltzes)..when you hit START there seems to be just a tiny (but noticable) delay til the beat starts, whereas with a foot switch it kicks in straight away.
