2627 Beefy Slinky : Great for slide!

I purchased the Beefy Slinky's to drop on my Epiphone SG as a solely slide guitar. Ideally, I wanted a quality set of chunky (telephone cable) strings and that's what I got with this pack.

With the bridge and action raised massively on the SG and a little setting up (the guitar had 10's on before) I had a great, chunky sounding slide guitar with these strings really contributing.

They still sound great after a few weeks playing. I've got them tuned into an Open E chord.

If you were playing without slide and trying to carry off full tone and more kind of bends, I'd personally find these strings a little heavy in standard tuning, especially with that chunky G string. However, this is a matter of personal preference and might feel fantastic to some.
