2225 : An interesting experiment with great results

I bought these on a whim after reading about guys like Allan Holdsworth, Yngwie Malmsteen and Frank Zappa using ultra light strings. I have a few guitars with string gauges ranging from 11s to 9s so I thought why not try 8s??
I put these onto my Yamaha Pacifica (shameless plug for these great guitars haha) and I'm really enjoying the experience. They definitely have a different feel to 9s and you do need to use a lighter touch, but bending and legato are a dream (I'm able to do bends of up to 4 whole tones on the b and e, youch!)
So my advice would be simple - try em out! You might even like it
