...close to a Mork & Mindy reference maybe, but is it all just sic-fi / comedy..?

I've got to be completely honest and say that I'm always more than a little sceptical about wonder products containing 'micro-technology' this, or 'aloe vera infused' that, so coated strings have never really grabbed my attention... until I finally got some first hand (literally!) experience.

I usually tend to gravitate towards the old trusty D'Addario EXL110's, but I fitted a set of these to a Les Paul by request of the customer and was rather taken with how they felt under the fingers.

So much so in fact, that I ordered some for my own Les Paul and yes, they work for me! Is the tone or sustain wildly different..? I'm not certain - I haven't really done a direct comparison, but I do know they 'feel' nice.

Will they last a thousand years before going dull..? Unlikely, but if they outlast the D'Addarios by one set to three (as that's essentially the cost differential), then yes, I can see me staying with them.
