Nanoweb Light : Best possible value for money
I play a lot and I own a lot of guitars. Hence changing strings on my guitars comes quiet frequently. With the Elixir strings that is actually something that doesn't give me any headached anymore.
The first thing I realized when I had set them up first time was that they seem to be slightly thicker than regular uncoated strings. At least the look and feel is chunkier. Also the feeling while playing is different. Actually it reminded me a bit of strings that I had treated with Dunlops Fast Fret stick: Something like a slight glide effect. But now for the much more important part, the sound. In essence I perceive the same effect here: They sound slightly chunkier, less harsh, less metallic than regular strings. I know quite some players who criticize that as less sparky and less vivid, but I actually like the sound a lot. What I agree to though are comments that they are a tiny bit less dynamic. Having said that, we are talking nuances here. However the best part about them is the lifecycle: I play 1-2 hours a day and they last for 2-3 months, sometimes longer. I realized that actually keeping the guitar in the case is significantly extending the durability compared to just keep them outside the case.
