Valuestrings EL 9-42 : Value strings

I bought a box of these strings mainly to keep as spares in my teaching studio in case pupils needed to change strings. The packaging is decent, cardboard sleeves in a plastic wallet, and each string is sealed in plastic. The ball-ends are solid metal pellets rather than traditional brass ball-ends. The strings themselves feel slightly less supple than normal sets, and there seemed to be some kind of light lubricant on them when taken out of the packet. Once fitted to a guitar they performed well, and stayed in tune after the standard few stretches. Sound wise, they appear ok, if unremarkable, given the price though, they are great value. Haven't had any strings breaking, so I'd recommend them as backup sets, or for use in schools or teaching studios.
