Valuestrings EL 9-42 : good value

For roughly 80p a set you can't go wrong. 'They' say you should change your strings every two weeks and before every gig/recording session anyway, if your paying £5/6 for a set that will get very expensive.

I have used most of the other famous brands of strings and can't tell a massive difference, strings sound best, or 'brightest' new anyway, and at this price you can afford to have the new sound more often.

The only minor criticism i have is that they were a little bit 'gunky/grimey', but i have had other, much more expensive strings that suffered from the same problem.

I've played on bad strings, the ones that feel like they're cutting the fleshy parts of your fingers, death by a thousand subtle/implied cuts; but these are not them. They are good quality and playable, for the price you cant go wrong.
