Beta 57 A : Clarity
I recently decided to trekk out my drums with some top end mics, and of course there are some natural options there - Sennhesiser 909, Shure 57, etc etc etc.
I do like playing with new ideas though, and did not instantly go for the old standards.
The Beta 57 has a very nice musical sound when used with my tee drums classic series snare, and captures the warmth and depth of the mahogany shell un like any other mic i have tried.
In the battle against thin sounding mics the Shure Beta 57a was definately my sword.
I use one on top snare and one on bottom, to get the perfect sound.
