Beta 57 A : Shure it's grand!

I hadn't bought a microphone before, and needed one for recording vocals and guitar. Didn't have a big budget, but needed something that would be worth the investment.

A lot of searching for some advice around various places and I ended up with a choice between this and the Beta 58A. Went with the 57A because I read somewhere it was better for guitars. I also preferred it's shape to the spherical 58A.

Ordered it as part of a bundle with stand and cable.

Using it with a guitar is grand. Nice natural sound from it whether strumming or finger-picking. Just have to be careful of positioning, close but not too close that you'll knock it with your hand.

With vocals its perfect. I've a low, raspy voice and the mic picks it up pretty well. You need a stand though, it is prone to a bit of handling noise.

All around great mic.
