Reveal 502 : Really Rock Solid!
This might come as a bit of a joke at first but it isn't. 1 out of 2 was faulty when i received it. Just a loose screw which could have happened to any brands. I am waiting to receive my second monitor but still had a listen to them both together and what jumps at thee most is the imaging... absolutely out of this world. i had more expensive speakers before (that were too big for my room) and they could not even come close. here we are talking about being able to properly place the your sound/instrument in its own space. really handy when you have really busy tracks.
The next best thing are the bass to mid to high EQs (adjustable to your room) on these monitors which are absolutely well balanced so you can listen to your mix from low to high volume without losing any details or any punch... that also means that you are not going to get your ears tired by pumping it up all the time. But if you fancy pumping these up, you have to be warn that they can become pretty loud.
The only down side is the bass might be slightly hyped so unless i train my ears on them 1st i might not get spot on... but compares to the pair i had before, these are 10 times more accurate and for slice of the price these are a proper steal. these are as clear as the Yamahas, have a better image and don't have a too hyped bass like the KRKs. so if you don't want to spend £400/500 on a pair of monitors then get these.
