DTX6K3-X E-Drum Set : Looks can be deceiving.

Having used the Roland TD-17KVX i can make a good comparison between them and since now it is cheaper than the TD-17KVX its a great alternative.

Pros:

Great Sound Module: It looks old fashioned but it has individual inputs in contrast to most similarly priced drum modules that use the cable snakes, the sounds are better compared to the competition, it has a lot of settings and adjustments you can make to fit it to your style, the triggering is top notch.

Pads: I prefer the silicon pads to most mesh pads although higher priced mesh pads like the roland digital snare still come on top , way more pricier though.

Cymbals: They are the same cymbals Yamaha uses for years now but they are great, high quality and trigger great, especially the hi hat is a better implementation vh-10/11.

Rack: Great quality and sturdy rack much better than the mds compact rack on the td-17kvx.

Cons:

Like everyone mentioned the pad sizes are small although you can practice just fine most people expect bigger pads and i am sure Yamaha could provide their bigger pads at the same price after so many years in production.
