.011 Single String Plain Steel : Excellent.

I normally use 10-46 gauge Elixir strings on my guitars but decided I wanted to use my Les Paul (one of the cheaper Gibson 60's tributes) for slide tuned to open E and was a bit disappointed that the high E sounded/felt a little weedy and weak. Then I read an interview with Derek Trucks where he said he replaces his 10 gauge E with an 11 (although he uses a different brand) so I did the same and the guitar now plays perfectly (even if I can't play like Mr Trucks). It makes open G sound better too for Keef type stuff. Try it.
