Bullet Strat HT IL AW : Positively surprised

A hardtail all-white maple neck Fender Stratocaster was my very first "true" guitar I had to sell to buy a plane ticket. I was missing that Fender sound and bought myself this guitar thinking it would be little more than a toy. I was surprised at the quality of the sound and the craftsmanship. Ok it's not a Fender, it's a Squier and the neck is not maple and is perhaps a little flatter than I remember mine to be, but it was a long time ago and I've been playing Gibson ever since so I could be wrong. The guitar feels and sounds good. It's way lighter than my Gibson "brick" and makes all the right sounds. I was really missing the out-of-phase sound of the setting right before the neck pickup and it's definitely there.

The action is comfortable and the intonation is correct, the frets are nice and smooth, and all the electronics do what they are supposed to.

All white Fenders are pretty simple in terms of finish but this one has nothing less than my '75 Fender had except for the name and the resale value.

For the price I paid, it's definitely a bargain.

I'd do it again.

p.s. I'd have no issues modifying this baby with locking tuners and a Sustaniac while I would not dare touch anything original from a '75 Strat.
