G212 Celestion V30 : First cab purchase
This is the first cab I've purchased. After hours and hours and hours of research I decided this would be the best purchase I could make. Not at all expensive especially when compared to some of the more affordable 2x12s by Blackstar and Marshall. This one is not only far less expensive, it also comes with more expensive speakers. From what I've read, people like the Celestion V30s a lot more than whatever the other budget 2x12s some installed with.
When it arrived, the box was very beat up. I was expecting the cab to be trashed. The tolex on the top front edge was dented. I see no other damage to the cabinet. It is a little disappointing to see this sort of damage that could have been avoided with angled styrofoam or that hard angled cardboard. Even a second box inside the first would have been a welcome sight. Regardless, it arrived and it works.
I use this with an Orange Crush Pro 120. I have very little experience playing through anything more than a practice amp. I had a late 70s solid state Peavey amp which was killing my enthusiasm because I just couldn't achieve the tone I had in my head. With this cab and the CR120 I not only can sound the way I want, I can achieve tones I never even thought I'd like. It's very inspiring, very loud, sounds amazing.
If I ever buy another cab it will most likely be another one of these. Stick them next to each other and get def.
