Ram's Head Big Muff Fuzz : aboslutely awesome!
When I started building my first analogue pedal board I decided I wanted a board that can play anything from Gilmour to some heavier prog-metal.
I knew I would need to have a few staple pedals - and this was certainly one of them.
Initially i thought i would only be using this for those Gilmour leads but boy was i surprised.
I did the usual - Fender Strat playing the bridge pickup with a bit of delay, then I kicked on my OD.... Boy was i surprised. Suddenly, I was getting some super expressive leads. Made a few adjustments - and i was chugging out some metal on my Strat!
Plugged my LP in and was surprised at the amounts of distortion i was getting.
All this into a Marshall Origin just on the edge of breakup.
This pedal can really do anything, really.
Pros:
- Gilmour tones down pact
- Can go into the higher gain territory
- Harmonics are amazing
Cons:
- you have to tweak with it a bit to get it to where you want it
- it is relatively mid-scooped - you will need to mess with the EQ on your preamp
