DI20 : Decent DI for the money
I bought 2 of these DI's for radio outside broadcasts of live music events and studio recording applications and they've worked amazing for both.
The double DI is really useful for live settings where we need to attenuate a hot signal. I've generally used them between the feed from DJ's into our broadcast mixing desk.
I've also used these classically for live concerts and studio recordings, for directly inputting an electric, acoustic, bass guitar or keys into the desk. You can set the DI to act in 2 channel mode (so you get 2 DI's for the price. Although you can only set an attenuation that applies for both at the same time) or in single channel mode, where you get a 1/4" jack output which is perfect to go into an amplifier on stage for monitoring etc.
Even used these to connect a phone/mp3 directly into an active speaker when no mixer has been available!
They're phantom powered via a mixing desk. Or when phantom power is unavailable, 9v battery powered with an on/off switch. There's a red LED that illuminates when power is received, which is really helpful to check you have an initial connection to the desk in the event of issues during an event.
Overall, don't be put off by the low price. Really good product at a great price point. Can't recommend it enough!
