Djemben Kessing (Snare) : Best sounding kessing

I already had a nicer looking kessing from Meinl. I ordered this African Percussion kessing, and found them to work really well in pair. The African Percussion kessing is handmade, and it shows. But the sound is rich and sharp. My Meinl kessing is smaller, so has a different mellower tone. To play these to different kessings, with two distinctly different tones, together, gives a nice dual tone percussion, mounted on your djembe. I play them by hitting the stem. So my advice, get this one for rich sound, and add another one, of different make/size, to complement it.
