Heavy NPS : One of my favourite NPS strings!
I've used these strings for many years and I like them a lot. They need to be broken for a couple of hours before they're at their best though. The G-string in particular sounds absolutely horrible out of the box. The first time I tried these strings I actually though the G-string was faulty. It's got this nasty thin metallic ringing. But give them a couple of hourse and they transform into something really nice! All the nastyness is gone and they will sound wonderful for a very long time.
I would describe their broken in sound as slightly above average bright for a nickle plated steel string. But it's not a nasty, clanky brightness like D'Addario XLs. The Pyramid NPS have a nice zing in the treble range but the midrange is very smooth and balanced. The lows are nice and tight. And they stay crisp a LOT longer than D'Addarion XLs.
Highly recommended if you're looking for the NPS sound with a bit of brightness.
