Amarok-6 BKBL Flame Burst : The Only Neck-Through for This Price

Let's start with the bad:

- Neck pickup has something wrong with it. A lot of buzzing/hissing.

- Volume pot scrapes when turning and is hard to turn

- Blatant hole where they missed when pre-drilling for tuners on back of headstock

- A few tool marks and scratches (2 places)

- The 3 way switch should be angled, not straight up and down. Easy fix, but a strange choice

Some of these issues like the tools marks/scuffs are not a big deal considering the specs you get for the price. I was expecting some imperfections with the finish. The hole in the headstock and neck pickup are making me debate if I should return it. These are also why it got 4 stars from me. If the neck pup was fine and no hole in the headstock, 5 stars for sure.

Now the good:

- Not the thinnest neck, but comfy nonetheless and a great smooth satin finish on it.

- Pickups (minus the hissing) sound great! I was worried that I paid for EMGs just to get rid of them, but I like them and they're staying.

- Bridge is comfortable and easy to use

- Stainless steel frets are awesome at this price point and the frets were done very well even for higher end guitars

- Neck through construction...I mean, what more do you need to say? It's fantastic

- Locking tuners seem to be working great so far, slight instability but I've only had it one day and went from Germany to hot, dry Las Vegas so I expect some shifting. I think they'll work great.

- Beautiful. It's a very attractive instrument especially considering the price.

That's about it. All in all it's well worth the money. I'm thinking about maybe saving for a 7 string version now if my GF doesn't kill me for buying another guitar :D
