2215 : Perfect balance of tone and speed

I've liked to play thick strings in years, they have a very powerful tone when it comes to power chords and they tend to be very versatile as far as tuning is concerned. The big elephant in the room of course, is that by using a thicker string gauge you inevitably end up struggling more on the high ones. Blending strings from different sets is always a good option, however Ernie Ball Heavy Bottom are a perfect compromise of good tone and playability. The low strings are 52-42-30 gauges, like those you would find on a .11 set for acoustic, whilst the high strings are the same as a .10 for electric.

Overall a very economic solution for those who like to have a thick tone and fast playing.
