UP-1 1 Channel Dimmer : Used wirth a 500W Fresnel

Great smooth dimming curve.

Impressed that it also has the ability to go from being a dimmer to a switch pack (50%dmx is on - below 50% is off)

They don't warm up with a 500w load, although they do make the traditional buzz when the lantern is dimmed, very quietly though and inaudible from 1/2ft away

They feel pretty solid, accidentally dropped one and it chipped my floor but had no visible damage to the unit

The spacing to mount onto a bar is very small, possibly designed for an own-branded lighting system? I've not measured or looked further into this as wire ties and safety bond will suffice for my project

Only one down side, and I'm not sure if this was an ordering error on my behalf or a feature that cannot be changed; the output socket is a german/euro plug type. This is fine because I also ordered lanterns from here and wired a euro plug onto the end. However, I'd have to make up an adaptor to change this to a UK 13A or 15A socket

The display menu is printed on the front of the unit so you don't need to refer to the manual to figure out what all the symbols/letters means (Its a VERY simple unit to use anyway!)

Set the address, make sure its set to the correct mode (Dim or switch) and that's pretty much it.

Takes one DMX channel to operate.
