G12 NEO Creamback 16 Ohms : Super light, but a bit picky sounding

The elephant in the room is the weight - yes, it's absurdly light. For a 1x12", that makes for a really portable cab. I can only imagine the day-n-night difference in a 4x12".

That being said, the sound it produces is... picky. It's generally rather bright and open sounding, but might lack downright punch and power in some contexts. I ended up keeping it, and buying a V30s-loaded 2x12, which has absolutely incomparable bass output at LOWER volumes than that.

I would say that it's a great speaker on its own, but you need to be careful and informed about the sound characteristics. If you're unsure about what speaker to buy (especially for a 1x12" or 2x12"), a regular greenback or V30 might be a much safer bet, which would also be easier to trade for something else later. That being said, it's a great speaker that can sound magnificent given proper guitar, amp and player.

I'm giving it 4/5 for sound because it's simply not nearly as straightforwardly good as other Celestion offerings, which seem to sound amazing regardless of what you pair them with.
