AM Perf Strat MN Satin LPB : Modern/vintage mix of best features.

This strat is a nice mix of modern playability and vintage strat construction. Neck is nice and has smooth finish, not too thin, not too fat, great middle ground so anyone can play it. Shredders won't be disappointed but it offers some thumb support for rhythm playing and "cowboy chords". Big frets are great to make playing more effortless and there are 22 of them, which is nice modern feature.

The nice thing for those who want some vintage vibe is a 6 point tremolo with bent steel saddles, but it has modern twist: the string spading is slightly narrower than vintage-correct 56mm, which is great for most of us, as E strings are not so close to the edge of fretboard in high positions. I also prefer a neck with no Micro-tilt as it brings this guitar a little closer to 50's strat spec.

pros:

-modern playability

-perfect mix of vintage/modern design

-overall quality of fretjob

-made to tight tolerances (no neck alignment issues, no shims in neck pocket needed)

-satin finish is very thin, which resembles premium feature like thin nitrocellulose finish (of course this one isn't nitro)

-push-pull switch so you can have neck-bridge and all 3 pickups combinations.

cons:

-pickups are really great and balanced, but for 100% vintage tone they are a little bit too overwound

-Although there is nothing to complain on the quality side, this is simple spec guitar, you pay a little bit more for "Fender" name
