Beta 58 A : It is a shure...

this microphone was to replace my Rode S1 and my old SM58

Soundwise it does not impress me - but that said, you can not go wrong with this mic: it is punchy, it is durable and reliable, it does not feed easily, and you can replace your old SM 58 with this one, and make everyone sound just a bit better.

So, why am I not impressed? I think it lacks some clarity, it feels a bit like you reach out for the shelving treble knob all the time, but it does not add the airiness to the microphone as you are looking for. I may add, that this is only an issue when i running throguh my Allen Heath digital desk - running it in a dynacord powermate, and I am as happy as can be.

Conclusion. It is a worthy successor of the SM 58, but today I just expect a bit more ...
