Lightspeed Overdrive : A Quality Overdrive

I have not used the pedal in a band context (no rehearsals or gigs due to Covid 19) therefore so far I have only used it at quiet volumes at home. I run it into a Two Notes Le Clean pre-amp and then into the input of a Quilter Tone Block 200 with the gain set to a line level which is in turn connected to a separate 1x12 closed back speaker cab. All I can say is that even with the limitations of this signal chain it sounds good and also responds well when a treble boost is used in front of it. I must admit that even when playing with a band, the volume levels are such that I do not use any of my overdrives to push an amp on the edge of break-up into a full overdriven sound, rather I use them as tone shapers to mimic an overdriven amp and I see no reason why this pedal would not do an excellent job used in this way. The quality of the product is good and this pedal has been around for a few years now and always gets good reviews by reviewers on YouTube so the track record of this overdrive speaks for itself. Must be honest - I would love to hear it live pushing a cranked amp into full overdrive though.
