SM57 LC : The Legend

The SM57 is probably the most used mic in music industry ever. It was used for pretty much everthing, from guitar cabs (Jimmy Page) to bass drums (Tame Impala). Lots of legendary records feature SM57 on vocals too. It's such a flexible mic, an incredible workhouse. The great thing about this mic is that it's always been quite affordable. It can work as a live mic for almost any instrument too. Every decent studio should have LOTS of 57s. Often you switch between different mics in studio, looking for that sound, you wouldn't bet on Sm57 but then you give it a try and you realize that's it. There's almost nothing this mic can't do. It is simply an industry standard, it always was and always will be.
