SM57 LC : Perfect for Git-Amps and brass Intsruments
I was looking for a mic for my Amp and compared this one with the sennheiser e609, but the sm57 sounded better for me. It is just my opinion, i know, there are users, that will tell ju just the oposite, but for me i get the sound i want, if i mic my amp with the sm57!
Sound: I just need to raise the mids a bit in the mix and then i have the ideal sound for me. Also i like the different characteristics you hear at different mic-positions (center of the speaker, edge, or in the middle!)
Oce i lend it to a friend of mine for doing the technics at a big-band concert. There he used it for 2 trombones (pa was just supporting) and was quite happy with it! Actually he thinks of getting one for himself, because you can use it for a few instruments.
Quality: I admit, that the head is wobbling a bit, but that counts for all sm57's.
Overall: Great Mic for Amps (guitar and bass) and brass instruments!
