CLD-60SCE TB : It is a decent guitar

When I got the first one, it had really big bumps on the frets, and the saddle was leaning too much forward. So immediately returned it the next day. That was really unplayable. I would have to re-fret it as the bumps were so deep, that a filing couldn’t fix it.

So got a second one.

Frets: Well the frets on this are acceptable, not something extraordinary but not bad, can polish it at home to be nice.

Tone: For the price, it’s sounds decent. I wanted a cheap guitar that I am not afraid to carry anywhere, but still doesn’t sound horrible. It has a solid top, so that was really a selling point. And I am not disappointed. It doesnt sound as good as my PRS, but if you are not playing it beside each other, I think it is enjoyable for playing around a campfire or on any trip. It is loud enough.

Build quality: some smaller finish dents, and errors, nothing really noticeable. The tuning pegs are what they are. They are not super smooth, but they are reliable enough. The only thing that is something I need to fix is the saddle. On my first strum it got cracked :D Also bends forward really as the first one, so intonation on the 6th and 5th string are way off. As the other parts of the guitar were meeting my expectations, I won’t return it but buy a graphtech saddle and at least can learn on this guitar how to fit a new saddle. Also thinking of removing the piezo from under the saddle, so it can sit more stable, and have better connection with the bridge, hopefully improving the tone a little bit (I am not planning to use it plugged in). The factory setup is actually quite nice, won’t really need to adjust the nut to lower the action.

Other: like with every new guitar, string needs to be changed. One strange thing, is that the inside really smells bad :D So will put some coffee beans inside to get rid of it :D
