RGA42HPT-LBM : Amazing guitar for the price
If you're like me, looking for a decent enough Ibanez without breaking bank then this might be perfect for you.
The fretboard is so fun to play on - I had an RG370 before and that's where I started liking the Ibanez fretboards but this guitar is so well crafted and the finish is so smooth - you will literally feel the improvement playing this your first time. It just feels right.
I was also not a fan of the Quantum pickups on teh RG370 - they have a lot of ringing to them, almost makes them unplayable at points with distortion. But the DiMarzios on this are amazing - they are just so much better for playing metal (that's what I play). The clarity on clean is amazing too but the distrotion is where this baby shines. The bass on low E is something I have not experienced with another pickup before (a reaosn why I hate EMGs).
Physical attributes: It arrived in perfect condition. It's a floyd bridge so it will take couple days to hold tunings but that's a rite of passage. Some minor setup is required which is totally dependent on how you like it. For me I just tuned it and thought it was good action for me. The matte blue looks beautiful however the gold hardware is not really excellent -but a minor concern in an other wise great guitar. The guitar is super light and perfect for playing extended time without tiring your shoulders or your lap.
