Warrior WRX24M Ferrari Red : Semi economical

Bought the guitar for mainly the fretboard and also the body shape. So starting with the neck, it was very dry feeling and had 0 tension on the truss rod, but was dead flat. So I oiled it, restrung with heavier strings, and after about a week it is getting a bit of curve and will readjust truss soon.

The body, I was always comfortable playing sitting with a v shape so that was one reason I wanted this. It is comfortable also. The body is light, too light. I’ve taped a stack of coins in the lower end of the control routing to give some counter balance. It’s not enough so I will eventually route the upper fin and put something in it.

The sound- it has a lot of highs, too much for me. Better with heavier strings but still eh. It sounds thin, and acoustically the most quiet guitar I have, I would say probably from low density wood. The pots aren’t great quality but they aren’t bad, but will be replaced for push/pull soon. The soldering was sub standard and I have redone it. A set of bare knuckles are on the way so maybe I can update this with something positive later.

The quality- there are some imperfections with the inlays and paint around the body/neck border. The black paint on the head is so thin I can see the red under it in places. The front strap position is terrible, will move it to the back of the body.

Overall, I am under impressed with what I got, I have a 2017ish Indonesian sl2 that is of considerably higher quality. But I do enjoy the aesthetic of it and will hang on to it and improve it how I can. Some tolerance can be given as it is also not a 3.5k custom shop model, but now with other hardware and no labor it sits at about €1000 and still doesn’t have a case… and as I have been watching this on back order since mid last year, the wait time for a custom would have been similar.

As a long time Jackson player my advice to myself would be get a custom shop next time
