FSR Affinity Series Tele Black : Not so good...
Let me start by saying I know it's only after being released so give it time.
I have been a loyal Fender fan for over 30 years but my patience with them is starting to wear thin.
My main gripe is with Fenders quality control or lack of.
Ok, covid helped no one and demand for guitars etc rocketed and quality control suffered. It was probably a case of build guitars as fast as you can and a quick once over and ship them out. But it's we the consumer that suffers.
Anyway, this guitar suffers from major quality control issues.
Firstly, the tone pot stops working as soon as you start turning it down. I can easily fix that.
The guitar is riddled with scratches and yes black is easily scratched but a new guitar???
Output Jack is scratchy as hell and loose. Easily fixed too
But my point here is that I shouldn't have to fix these.
I bought this and a Harley Benton TE30 for €109 and it's a far superior guitar.
Pickups in this are a bit dull too
Put it like this, I have a 2021 Squier Affinity Sunburst and this was perfect - I'm thinking it's a factory issue, this guitar was made in China whereas my other Sunburst Squier was made in Indonesia.
It's gonna take time to fix these and probably money too so I would really advise you to look elsewhere, the TE52/62 series is a better guitar all round than this. Maybe i just got a bad guitar but it really just adds to how bad my opinion on Fender is.
