DB-100 Desktop Boom Arm : Decent quality, perhaps a bit light in places
The boom arm mounts easily to a desk; in my case an IKEA Bekant which is only about 15mm thick, but the threaded clamp will open to several cm.
Tensioning/friction knobs for the joints work well, with the middle one adjusting the effect of the top springs (so the arm doesn't bounce up under the spring tension after putting it into place), and the end one ensuring the mounting rod for the microphone stays put once you've got it angled to your satisfaction. There is some wobble when the desk moves (it's not a great desk design), but the friction clamp at the middle stops any sympathetic movement from moving the arm and mic out of position; the mic bounces a bit, but that's it.
Construction at the point where the arm slots into the base seems a little on the thin side, and there is some side-to-side rocking, but since it's something you're probably not moving all the time, metal fatigue probably isn't a concern.
Holds a Marantz Pro MPM-2000U just fine; had to take off the thread size adjuster, but that's fine - it could be removed!
