HCMS-531B : One of the best microphone stands I've used

This is a great microphone stand with nice features that I haven't seen in other microphone stands.

I didn't know before purchasing, but one of my favorite features about this stand is when you lock the boom arm angle, it also locks the entire arm in place.

So once you set and lock the boom arm where you like it, it cannot move at all, even if someone accidentally bumps it.

The "EZ Clutch" makes it very quick and easy to adjust height.

The stand feels very well built, without being excessively heavy.

I much prefer stands with "wheel" type locking mechanism on the boom arm (like this one) rather than the more common "handle bar" type.

However, I find that the "wheel locks" on this stand are too slippery and not grippy enough as they're made of semi-smooth plastic.

For comparison, my Gravity stands (which are way worse) have textured rubber/silicone wheel locks that are much easier and nicer to handle.

That's the biggest flaw I could find in this stand.

Another thing to note is that the small boom extension lock might not be strong enough to hold down a very heavy microphone at an angle, it'll slide down to face the floor.

So instead of spinning the boom arm you'll have to spin the microphone inside its shock mount.

Overall I highly recommend this stand!

I bought a pair for myself and I plan to buy one more.
