Uxbridge Voice Alexa White : Great bluetooth speaker, mediocre assistant

I wanted a bluetooth speaker that connects directly to 220V AC; no need for further environmental damage by converters or batteries (although it most probably has a converter inside :D). Bonus points if it looked like a Silver Jubilee; it doesn't! I don't know what got into Marshall with those gold on grey designs. At least they could use the old logo, the one from which Friedman drew inspiration.

It is a great bluetooth speaker that you can install somewhere inside your home, pair it to your phone and listen to music. It gets 100-240V 50/60Hz from a regular figure-8 cable (36W if it matters), which means you probably won't even have to buy an clumsy adapter if you need one.

Any "smart" option in this speaker is sub-par. The Marshall Voice App application is not compatible with any Android devices I've tried (both recent models and at the time of the last app's update), and I had to use the APK (not recommend it unless you have a spare phone specifically for this). Unless you are using Amazon Music or Spotify, you do not know if, where, and for how long will Amazon Alexa support your provider as a "Skill". Even with the supported apps, basic features are not available; you can only play a certain song, or choose an artist and play their whole disocgraphy on random. No playlists, no albums, nothing. With Amazon Music, you cannot even start a playlist on your computer and "move" it to the speaker.

I'm keeping it because I never wanted a voice assistant, but I could not leave fellow buyers without a review.
