TK17-R Kalimba : Excellent Instrument!

I got this Kalimba now almost 3 years ago and it's still in tune! Very sturdy, excellent wood quality and make, ... and I found the sound to be a lot more pleasant (and volume slightly louder) than that of other more expensive kalimbas I had the chance to play/hear.

Obviously, the high notes in kalimbas are always a concern as most entry-level ones don't sound them that well, if at all, but I've had no issue with how the ultra high notes on this kalimba sound—I rarely play pieces that include them, anyway.

One thing I decided to do when I started learning on this kalimba was to get one with carved notes on the tines the next time I'm upgrading (say to a 21-key one) as the stickers are a very cumbersome substitute to that. The glue fades over time and the stickers' half-glued state produces an abnormally strong vibration when the tine is played, which very much ruins the note. That, or they just fall off. Learning what each note is obviously solves it but I'm not there yet.

All in all, this product still comes highly recommended.
