510CRP New Cristal Cantiga Set : Balanced choice
I have these strings in my Spruce Vowinkel 2A for 4 months now. The basses held very fine, they still have nice tone and dynamics, they don't feel old at all. I haven't tried the "regular" non premium Cantigas, from what I read the difference is the type of "raw material" that is used for the core. Compared to Corum's I had before, I feel these are brighter, more lively sound, and also more malleable for legato and vibrato, besides lasting longer. Still I wouldn't say they are as bright as something like the Knobloch double silver, still they have a lot of harmonics.
As for the New Cristal trebles, main advantage over regular nylon is better consistency in diameter of each string as well as super smooth feel, not as loud as carbon of course, but definitely more dynamic and confortable while not loosing much brightness. They can sound a bit "plastiky" when playing with right hand up towards the neck, or if nail or fret touches it while vibrating.
Overall I would say these strings are super comfortable for both hands, deliver perfect intonation and have a modern tone with lots of color nuance.
