SX2442FX : A great mixer for on the road or in the studio.
What I like about the Behringer SX 2442FX:
The layout of the SX 2442FX is very intuitive; following the signal path through the deck is easy by following the different colour coded knobs blue for EQ, red for AUX and orange for FX. The on board Graphics equalizer and effects are very good but I have yet to use them in a live situation. It’s good to know that they are there if needed.
My setup:
I use this mixer for a mobile PA setup and it has proved to be rugged enough to be still in pristine condition after almost five years of transporting to gigs in a hatchback in its original box.
I use 1 main vocal mic in channel 1 the next 4 channels have vocal mics channelled through sub 1-2 and through my Behringer EQ and returning through another channel direct to the main mix out. Then I use two other channels for music.
In the home studio The SX 2442FX is very versatile as a recording mixer with plenty of channels for mics and adding things like a looper and wireless receivers for ukulele and Cigar box guitar. Also a couple of floor stand mics for didgeridoo and cajon. Recording is accomplished via the dedicated tape input-output so the uses for this mixer are endless.
Quality:
As you will gather from the above this mixer is of excellent quality especially when you consider the price. Do not be put off by the width of the mixer although it is wider than the average mixer it is still easy to transport between gigs. And as they say if your kit looks good your audience will think you sound good.
To sum up:
This is a real mixer that feels good, looks good and really does sound good. With all the features you could want and much more. So I would recommend the SX 2442FX to anyone and I would not be without mine.
