Lovely smooth tones with my EMG high Z pinups "not active". No pedals for me, the cubes tone and boost, on board pedal controls are a must and really do the trick tone wise. I barely need to move treble mid or bass, all night, they're perfectly ballanced. Roland have got so much "db" from this amp, it has way more sound than my AC 30. Very sensitive to my pick style/pressure and left hand fretting technique, the cube is a game changer for the all round guitarist. A well built Roland reliable for life keeper.
