CP-1X Compressor : Excellent and easy-to-use compressor

Pros - Super easy to use, you have just 4 knobs and an LED meter that allows you to visualize what the pedal is doing and change your settings accordingly - Sounds great, even if you use it as a subtle always-on compressor, it still adds a nice touch to your tone - Boss quality and 5 year warranty (that you probably won't ever need) - Looks great, I personally love the blue sparkle and the chrome knobs and plate Cons - Doesn't have a Release control, which isn't that bad but if you want a lot of control over your compression, you might want to look elsewhere - Sounds pretty bad on bass. I'm guessing that since this is a multi-band comp, it's designed to best work with guitar frequencies. Boss has the BC-1X Bass Comp which is optimized for bass. I ended up selling mine because of those two cons and got an MXR M87 bass compressor (which also works great on guitar) but if you're just looking for an excellent and easy-to-use compressor for guitar, this one will do the job very well.
