8A AVB : Hollywood loudness!!!
It is used in my production studio and when I am playing live. All inputs I use are optical and have synced clock with my preamp. 8A is my master and summing mixer. I bought 3rd party AVB switch and I can use any room in my house as silent room being able to connect my preamp via LAN I created inside house ethernet network. I use it these days to make my tracks louder. I mean Rihanna or H.Zimmer loud. My analog synths recorded audio paints crazy loud and stereo wide patterns on phase plot monitor when playing with Teletronix emulation settings. If input signal on preamp is just a bit 'burned' effects can be suprisingly rewarding. I rarely see that on .wav files recorded from my friends. Every track I bounce or mix is louder but exaggerating with compression makes favourite tunes annoying. :) I use it also instead of NI AudioDJ 8 when I play live. I am running 5 stereo channels to Xone 92. 4 key locked tracks from Traktor 3 synced with LINK with Maschine which runs via phone output. Every pair of channels runs through MOTU mixer with a touch of compression and via group, reverb or master to get Teletronix limiter on every channel before signal is routed to analog outputs. There is no latency problems as with AudioDJ 8 and you can Alt-Tab during gig between Maschine software and Traktor without slightest interruption to be expected. Playing with it is really loud for everyone questioning why Antelope, DB25 cables & Model 1 are main choice for big festivals when loudness exceeds allowed levels for short periods but enough to make peaks of the day. :) I am buying second screen monitor to keep mixing console on and control it with midi motorized faders. 64 channels would be a lot of API components and patch cables. <3
