DT-1770 Pro 250 Ohm : Great closed back headphones for the price
I picked these up as an upgrade to my DT 770 Pro, but for context I am no audio engineer, just a person who enjoys music.
The first thing that stands out is the deep, impactful bass response, the 1770 can really deliver due to the closed back design. I'd say the midrange is fairly even, but the treble can be a bit fatiguing. I wouldn't say it's sibilant, to my ears at least, but if you're looking for enjoyment I can recommend a nice tube amplifier to round off those peaks a bit.
For electronic music though, these are amazing as is. I listen to a lot of acoustic music as well however, and they do fine, but sound slightly analytical.
The comfort is the second thing I want to point out, it doesn't get tight enough where it's uncomfortable, but the clamping force is quite intense. This also means the earpads will need to be replaced more often, since they started to flatten in a few months in my case.
Build quality is pretty solid, as you would expect with beyerdynamic. The cracking slider issue with the original series seems to be fixed, but sometimes when turning the earcups an unpleasant "cracking" noise can be heard from the yoke part getting impacted on the slider.
