TD-3-AM Yellow : Behringer TD-3-AM Yellow review.

5 years ago

First or all I use this machine in a techno set up;

Compared to the original Roland TB 303, the sound is slightly more thinner in the Behringer TD -3, hardly felt when playing along with other sounds, the materials are way cheaper, hence the low price, but it does have a wonderful new feature, which is the USB connection, now being able to set up sequences much easier via a computer. The distortion is another new feature which personally I don't like, having a very digital sound feeling.

If you like having acid sounds in your mix but don't have the money, this machine gives out the best 303 like sounds, the impact of the cheapness being directed to the materials used, poor quality plastics, cheap knobs, and buttons and having very little to no impact on the sound.

For me, the most important feature is the sound, which is straight on ACID, on the other hand, the materials for the build could represent a problem, but considering the price, I'm happy it comes in an enclosed box, as for this range of pricing you find in DIY synth kits, which only offer the electrical unsoldered parts of the machines, so having such a cheap machine sound so expensive is a real treat.
