Reface DX : Amazing capabilities, interesting interface
TL;DR: Amazing sound, good quality, a bit hard to program but lots of sounds already out there (Soundmond)
I picked this up to create FX-like sounds. I was not interested in the classic FM sounds, too 70s-80s for my liking. FM synthesis is really difficult, however the interface kind of makes up for it. But what is best for me is Soundmondo. This is Yamaha's platform where you can share presets. I have downloaded lots of presets already and this thing can create so many different / weird sounds, it is useful for almost any context.
From soundtrack-y, long and atmospherical presets to very deep bass sounds, it can do wonders. The sound quality is top notch, stereo outputs a huge plus and the onboard FX while they're not 100% configurable (I found no way to tempo sync the delay with incoming MIDI clock) they certainly can be used to create interesting textures.
The build quality is pretty good, it's really sturdy and feels very professional, I do however miss a modulation wheel.
