Adam Hall AHPCS10 Power Conditioner 5-stars Reviews
Great for the price
Considering the price of a similar unit from Furman (which I also own) this does the job very well! I am using this as my main switch for all my power amps/monitors in my studio, and no issues so far!
No noise w Guitar/Audio Interface any longer
I have a basic 1st gen Focusrite Scarlett interface with a guitar plugged into it. For ages I couldn't understand why some people on YouTube have managed to get good tones with various Amp Sims, my setup was just too noisy and fuzzy. I've tried with a DI Box, took care of clipping, nothing helped. I've installed this power conditioner and boom, the noise was gone. And I'm not talking about placebo effect: my girlfriend instantly noticed the difference without me giving her heads up. It's day and night.
In a nutshell: if you're living in an old building with shitty electricity, have a guitar and you'd like to use it with an audio interface only, you need to buy this thing.
Good protection
Been using this power conditioner in my studio for 1 year now. It never failed on me, even when massive thunderstorms outside. Build quality is so so, feels a bit cheap, but once you put it in the rack you don't really care anymore.
Great product at a good price
Does what you’d expect. Delivers clean power without any fuss, seems very well made and has been of good reliable service so far.
Power for the rack
I use this to power the following devices:
- Power distributor (to power the pedalboard)
- Lexicon reverb
- Engl e840
- Engl e530
- Peavey Rockmaster
It is a super solid little 1u device that has 8 three pin connectors on the back to power your devices. There is also one on the front which is handy!
The power cable is not attached to the device which in my opinion is great as you may need to replace it due to wear or accidental crushing by heavy equipment xD Or even if you take it abroad, just plug a local power cable in and done.
It comes with a few power cables in the box so you can get started strait away. They are quite long so if you are powering devices in a rack, they are easily long enough.
It is currently doing it's job and I have nothing to moan about
It was a great choice
We use this in some of really different places, for the filtering of the power supply for our PA system. Our sound is went really to better. The main task for this, the canceling the hum from the main power supply connectors. I think it was a really great choice to our band.
We used for example, in a PUB where the main power line is used together with the refrigerator, this filter is worked fine, blocked the noises of the refrigerator's compressor. The price of the stuff is really good, and friendly for the musicians.
Very useful and good in price
Versatile, well made, good for the price!
Sturdy and serves it's purpose very well
Sturdy, light weight (compared to some of it's similar class) and does the trick. I got rid of noises due to electrical issues in my band's rehearsal room. 9 connectors total and it came with the needed cabling to power your rack devices. I really recommend this piece of equipment.
stable
can't really be that sexy or interesting... shows the incoming and the current load. Has helped out a lot and proven 100% table so far.
Value for money!
This power conditioner is very well built and definitely worth the money you're paying for it. Maybe I would add a feature or two, but I really can't complain about the product at this price range. It's a must have piece of equipment if you have a small little studio and wanna protect your gear, it's really simple to install and it does the job. I heard some people complain about the low-end or cheap power conditioners causing them a lot of problems with the gear, but I can honestly say that I had lots of stuff hooked up on this guy at the same time and never had any trouble.
Well priced
The AHPCS10 is well priced and does what it should do.
My studio is based in industrial building with a lot of electrical devices that generate noise on the power line. This little baby had no problems with it. As soon as I've connected my amps and speakers to it all noise is gone! Obviously power surge protection is a nice bonus.
The bad points? Nothing major at all. The steel used for front panel is a bit soft do if you rest anything heavier on (or above) this unit it may bend, but that's it. I would definitely recommend it to anyone.
