the upgrade from previous gen is good, very good. the upgrade from 1st-2nd gen is huge. Very clear recordings. Focusrite Control panel is very useful for the best adjustment ,if you want the perfect clear recording stay at green area, when you go to orange teritotity you get distorted sounds.I really missing the pad button. if you want to record direct in guitars be careful with active pickups or high output humbuckers, you will need DI box for sure. with 8.3-8.5k humbuckers the input gain must be at minimun (7-8 o'clok),no wories for single coils or low output humbuckers. I am very satisfied with headphones sound quality , i mainly use 80 Ohm and 38 Ohm ,if I go with 32 Ohms there is sligty eq distortion, no big deal , but this is a big deal for a friend of mine that have the 2i2 4th...

I love the unit, it worked flawlessly out of the box and has hold up great. To turn pages on a iPad manually and play drums at the same time is a nightmare but his unit solves the problem totally! To my knowledge this is the only page turner on the marked you can operate by hitting pads with sticks so go and get it! Highly recommended!

This is a really good Interface, tried quite a few before, but I'm very happy with the purchase of this one, really liked that I can sync both inputs into one knob for a awesome stereo setup recording, and the shell is VERY sturdy, perfect for recording my instrument on the go in church and live streaming, and not worry about breaking. And the plugins that come for free with the interface are also a very good treat which makes the overall price of the item really a bang for the buck and affordable for such a high quality and nice sounding plugins. The only that can compete with this one in the same price range in my opinion is the SSL 2.
