Overall Great Reference Headphones

I use JDS lab Elements Dac&Amp to drive K712, in terms of power requirement it is definitely not hard to drive. Basically, I use these headphones for music and movies. I would say this headphone has decent detail, imaging, and soundstage. However, in terms of tonality, the sound will be toward to neutral side. It is like a glass of water, pure and with no additional flavors. In terms of price, it is worth it. Overall, these are good reference headphones with neutral sound. However, if you are looking for a warmer sound I would recommend other headphones.

Best headphones I have had in my life so far. Highly recommended product.

Comfortable, great sound, and might help with ear fatigue

I can't say much more than that I love using these headphones. They feel completely different to my DT770 Pro; less fatiguing for the ears certainly, which was why I bought them in the first place (as an alternative to good speakers, for practical reasons).

I use them for everything now from gaming to videos to music production. And it's especially in music production that they helped me avoid ear fatigue.

Comfortable to wear, lovely style, materials, quality and overall package. Of course they don't block out noise very well, so I keep my closed-back DT770 Pro around for that occasion.

Excellent for those on a budget

Really nice flat response on these, the added bass is essential too, imagine they might be a bit weak without it.Sturdy design, very comfortable, the choice of a coiled lead or tangle proof straight lead is a nice touch. The quality of the sound is great, feel they've helped with my production over my previous pair, would highly recommend for anyone on a budget.

Very light, beautiful, hard to drive headphones

It came in a nice box, well-presented. It's light and feels light on the head. Hardly touches ears. The whole item looks and feels very high-quality, material-wise.

I intend to use these for listening to casual music. I need a relaxed listening experience and this gives me just it. It's amazingly detailed, with a very wide soundstage. If you want to focus on the music, you may do so but for that a Sennheiser HD650 might be a better choice, with relatively non-existent soundstage and in-your-face mids. The K712 feels more in the "front rows", rather than "on the stage"

Also, for immersive gaming (can't speak for competitive) these're amazing.

Don't let the 62 Ohm impedance fool you into thinking you'll be driving these just fine with your typical smartphone. You'll still get a good experience, but you'll most likely benefit a lot from a decent headphone amplifier.

For a casual gamer or listener, these might very well be the endgame.

If you want to get a similar experience, with cut corners in every aspect but mostly the cost,I suggest the fidelio X2HR. But if you have a good amp and can stretch your budget for the K712, you'll not be dissapointed.

Excellent headphones

These are excellent headphones. I use them for listening to my synths through a mixer. They are very comfortable and have worn them for a couple of hours at a time without issue. Yes they are expensive but in the long term, I think the quality and comfort they offer makes it a worthwhile purchase.

awesome gear

I went down in the audiophile rabbithole right before quarantine started, and I ordered these headphone with a bunch of others back in February, and this one was the winner for me. I tried more expensive headphones for the first time in my life and I don't have a lot of knowledge about audiophile gear so you know take this with a grain of salt.

I meanly use this headphone for music listening, but my friend tried it for gaming and he was impressed with the soundstage. It has a very well balanced sound with an emphasis on the mid range, it has a lot of clarity, I would call this bright neutral sound, which I love, but I guess it's not for everyone. I would definitely recommend an amp with it, I only use the btr5 and for me that's good enough.

Compared to the AKG 240 MK2 it has more clarity and bass, although this is not for bass heads. And compared to the Sennheiser HD650 it's more lively, and it has more mid range imho. It can get warmer than the Sennheiser, (physically warmer, I never got warm ears with the HD650, but I got them with these) and the Sennheiser can provide a more laid back listen, but for me wasn't detailed enough. On the flip side I guess you could say the AKG can be more fatiguing than the HD650, but since I don't listen to music too loudly I don't find that a problem.

The built quality is good enough and they are extremely comfy to wear for long periods too. One star minus on this regard because I like headphones where you plug both cans in better.

All in all, I fell in love with it's sound signature (and the look!) and since February I use it a lot and I'm still in love.

Detailed and comfortable

nice low end, great sound detail and space, hard to match with this price tag.

lightweight and comfortable for long hours of use, no sweating.

I was also pleased with the super fast delivery.

very cool!

Very clear and true sound, I have used senhizers for a long time and they are very embellish, but these headphones are from a different universe.

Faultless

I use these for hours playing and mixing in ableton and my ears never tire. They are extremely comfortable and durable as i have dropped them numerous times. You really can wear them for hours as they are so light and while i am sure there are better sounding headphones for more money these sound great and with a good audio interface i have had great results mixing my tracks and experimenting with sound design. The two different mini xlr cables are also great quality and the soft bag is also a nice touch. Their not to shabby for COD on the Playstation either lol

These are hands down the best, clearest sounding headphones I know and I had quite a few different Beyerdynamic and AKG headphones to compare, even much more expensive ones.

Comfortable and Great Sound

These are very comfortable and feel surprisingly lightweight for the size. The sound is awesome. Be aware as they are open back anyone in the room can here everything you are listening to.

Really good audio and...

very nice wear comfort.

The only reason I haven't given these headphones a top rating is that there's a bit "break in" period where the memory foam feels a bit too hard but after that these cans are the most comfortable I've ever had.

Especially for long sessions where even pressure is paramount

Definitely recommendable if you don't have a narrow and small head with small ears, which I din't ;-)

The cups are deep enough that your ears shouldn't touch the inside and the head band flexible enough to give an even pressure atop of ones head. You might want to consider "working" the top leather strap some, since it is made of a thicker quality leather that seem stiff depending on your heads shape. Just flex it real good and the leather will soon feel softer.

A non issue for me

I've read many places that people recommend the use of a pre-amp with these to make them "pop" for real, and that may very well be the case. However I have NO problem driving them of the on-board audio on my motherboard (z390 Aorus Master from Gigabyte). But then I don't own an amp so I'm not sure what I'm missing.

All in all worth a try if your looking for a pair of open back headphones with very good wear comfort. +4 hours is no problem for me - no discomfort and good audio for sure

I rate them 4? stars

They were so close to the perfection that they described on the box

Main use cases: Gaming, listening to multiple genres of music and watching videos

The good:

- Lovely soundstage, although it feels lacking on the middle-rear. Good for placing enemies in games and adds a bit extra to a relaxed listening experience for music/videos.

- Clear, neutral sound, but not in a boring way. I was amazed that I heard so many things I did not hear before in games and music.

- The most comfortable headphones I've ever worn.

- 2 Cables included in the box, a long straight one and a coiled one (see comment in bad)

The bad:

- Materials. For a product of this price I would expect something that feels more "premium", I'm totally not getting this feeling due to it being an all plastic construction, with some plastic feeling very thin. The leather headband is the exception here, although it uses thin elastic bands to stay in place which has me slightly worried.

- The coiled cable, even though it's nice that they included this, feels very cheap.

- Mini-xlr as only input on the headphone? *sigh* Good luck finding good replacement cables.

Great headphones

Well balanced and neutral sound. I use AKG heaphones since the '90s.

These are perfect for home studio/practice (I play the bass, not an easy one to reproduce), I find it very easy to eq and master on my projects.

Compared to other AKGs I had before the bass is less boomy more definite and clear.

ABSOLUTELY GREAT!

i'm in love with these. Up until trying these i never strayed away from Sennheiser but these are just lovely. Been using them now for a couple of months for everything from mixing (i live in appartment) to mastering and just enjoying music with them and they're so clear and transparent it's amazing. took a little getting used since i hadn't had any open backs before but it didn't take long before i fell in love. i couldn't live without them. they are also so comfortable on your head that i sometimes forget i'm wearing them. the long red cable is a bit fragile at the end tho but replaceable so nothing to worry about, there's also a second coiled cable in the box already. 100% recommend

Clarity

Coming from Beyerdynamic DT990 Pro 250Ohms I wasn't expecting MUCH better quality but hoped for improved mid range and less harsh highs and that's exactly what these cans have provided me with now. Easier on the ears and less ear bleed.

Pros

1. VERY comfortable and wearing glasses I can tell you that it's very comfortable and better than the DT990 which were also very comfortable.

2. My ears don't touch anything which adds to the overall comfort.

3. Clear audio with some bass but explosive mids gives me the goosebumps while using Tidal.

4. Gaming is also great with these and it's easier to hear footsteps without the bass stepping in and taking control. Not that there isn't bass mind you.. theres plenty but it's less and a bit different is how I would put it.. Certainly better than my previous cans.

cons

1. While listening to lower quality sound sources such as youtube the quality of sound seems lacking in some... DT990 does a better job here.

2. Soundstage for gaming isn't as wise as the DT990 but it does have superior quality of sound.

These are my new daily drivers and I'm happy enough with them for a few years at least.

Good and confortable open headphones

Good and confortable headphones for mixing and listen music. Some low frequencies are missing, but it's normal for an open headphone. As open design, the sound stage isn't impressive. Confortable: they are really big but lightweight at the same time. Low pressure at the head sides.
