AKG Perception Live P4 Reviews
Solid microphone
I've been using these on drums (toms and BD), brass and bass cabinets over the last five years with very good results. These are not my go to microphones for guitar cabs or vocals, although it's not a complete disaster if you have no other choice. But it's on percussion and bass cab these really shine.
Quite good
If you consider this microphone it is either because you are on a budget or you want them for live work, whereby you dont want to be using a £400 mic that a load of numpty drummers wont respect. The quality is good, the sound is better than expected though it is quite large. Better mounted from a stand rather than a clip, though I have used clips with it for mic underneath the tom. Not at all bad for the money.
Nice mic for amping up guitar cab
Great build quality, very compact and nicely designed microphone. It's no SM57 but it sounds pretty good. A little too much treble but that can be EQed out leaving a nice tone.
An impressive mic for the price. If I was buying again to mic another amp I'd get this again.
Good sound, excellent value.
Surprisingly good for acoustic piano
The only mic I had free for the piano one day was this one, so I stuck it under the lid and it gave a lovely performance.
Nice wee mic
Just the job for use on Cajons and Bodhrans, would do nicely on toms etc, too.
We use these on various percussion instruments with great results, sometimes in a live situation there is no need to spend a fortune on a more expensive mic, these fit the bill nicely....
Akg instrument mic
An alround quality instrument mic that works well on both drums and amps and is definitely robust having been dropped several times and never faultered, for the money this is an excellent stage mic and a worthwhile investment.
